The Idea

DJ's from All around get to submit mixes to compete for prizes and a money pot which vary by the amount of DJ's that enter i.e.(each dj pays 10 dollars per submission, so if you have 4 submissions the pot is at $40) the winner takes 100% of the pot. This will be "bi-weekly themed battles". When i say themed battle every other week i will come on here and say for example... Jay-Z Mix (which all the songs will have to have or be from jay-z)...or it could be all 1985 and so on. Now to do this the DJ will need to have a PayPal acct setup..no money is paid till the winner has been decided. The winner will be determined by 1 FACTOR ONLY..which will be an online voting poll that will be on the same page as the mixes. Also the Theme's will be made up by the winner of the previous battle, so there may be repeat theme's and really off the wall theme's...pretty much anything is possible when it comes to making a mixin theme.

:::::::::Rules::::::::::::

  • Rule 1. - Must be to the theme.(new theme to be chosen by previous winner)
  • Rule 2. - Must be your mix. (no using other dj's mixes - you will get put on blast you and that other DJ)
  • Rule 3. - No DJ REMIXES, EDITS or MASH-UPS(meaning the songs must be original form)
  • Rule 4. - Mixes must be no longer then 8 minutes and no shorter the 6 minutes
  • Rule 5. - You MUST record live, no recording and then re-record over that to make it sound better..
  • Rule 6. - You MUST Pay to Play(if you do not pay you will get blasted on twitter, facebook, myspace, blogs, in public, and a group of dj's will show up to your spot and call you out!..well maybe not that far..but still PAY UP SUCKA!!!)
  • Have Fun with it...this is not DMC, this is for DJ's to have fun and get the chance to show skill level. And get the peoples attention the art of DJing.

DJ Merk's Rule to Artist

#1 Get it mixed & mastered: I know it sounds almost like 'duh' but you'd be surprised.

#2 Make it MP3: Don't send DJs wma, mp4, or whatever kinda bs yall may send. Go 2 Download.com & search mp3 converter, there r free programs

#3 256kbps +: When converting please convert to 320kbps, 256kbps at the minimum. This is for better sound when we play it in the club!

#4 Tag Yo Sh*t!: Again, go 2 Download.com & this time search: Mp3 tag. Get a program to correctly label your song with all the song info

#5 Download Serato: Huh?! Why? Any1 can download Serato for free on Serato.com. Get it & find out your songs BPM & put it in on your tagger

#6 Know What A BPM is: BPM stands for Beat Per Minute. This is how DJs blend songs together. The more you know, the better for us

#7 Upload it right: Limelinx is ok if u want to show off how many downloads u got, but its too much bs to get your song. Use mediafire.com

#8 Zip it: Put all the tracks for your song (clean/dirty/inst/acc) in a folder & zip it. That's what we call a DJ service pack. Upload that

#9 Learn how to send: Get on sendspace.com or yousendit.com & u can upload your songs or zip & it will email it straight to the DJ

#10 Don't approach a DJ at work: this is the #1 annoying thing ever. come before the club or wait til we're done. We're at work

#11 Come correct: Don't bring no shit with a permanent marker. Have a pressed single. If u can't afford it, get our email address & send it

#12 FOLLOW UP: Can't say it enough. DJs get a lot of songs. Be patient & don't feel like we "hoeing" u. Just follow up

#12.5 Don't be annoying: Follow up but damn don't hit a nigga 3 times a week

#13 Keep ya head up: Don't ever beef with a DJ cuz he doesn't like your song. Make better music or move on. DJs stick together, be careful

#14 Quick links: Use tinyurl.com. U can customize your link so u can easily remember. Ex: tinyurl.com/getbigalbum (shameless plug)

#15 Build relationships: Stop s*ckin DJs dicks for spins. Just be cool w/ us outside of music & u'll be surprised.
